1. Who we are

Auto Policy Desk is a trade name of Amal Jahan Inc, an authorized independent insurance retailer working from 323 Morrow Field Ave, Elmira, NY 14904. We compare coverage from the partner carriers and licensed agencies we work with, we may receive commission when you buy a policy, and we may help you apply for it. We are not an insurance company, a carrier or a government office, and we do not set premiums, eligibility or claim outcomes.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our website at autopolicydesk.com and through enquiries you send to our desk by form, email or telephone. It does not describe the practices of any insurance carrier or agency that may issue your policy. Their own privacy notices apply to the policies they issue.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

When you complete a form on this website or speak to our desk, we may collect:

your name, email address and telephone number;
your postal address, ZIP code or general location;
details you choose to describe about your vehicles, drivers, household or business;
the name of your current insurance provider, if you choose to share it;

We share personal information only in the limited situations below.

With partner carriers and agencies, to get your quote. When you request a quote or a policy, we share the details needed for underwriting with the carriers or licensed agencies we work with. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
With service providers. We use third party providers for website hosting, email delivery and IT support. They process information on our behalf under confidentiality obligations and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information where the law, a regulation, a court order or a lawful request from a public authority requires it, or where disclosure is needed to protect the rights, safety or property of our firm, our clients or other people.
In a business transfer. If our firm is reorganised, merged or its assets are transferred, information may move as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

We never sell your personal information.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

This website is built to work with as little tracking as possible. We do not run advertising networks, behavioural targeting pixels or cross site tracking here. Any cookies or local storage we use are limited to what the site needs in order to function, such as remembering the state of a form or blocking automated spam. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

6. How long we keep information

We keep enquiry information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, usually for the length of our relationship with you and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can answer follow up questions and meet our record keeping and legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete it sooner, and section 8 explains how.

That includes access controls, encrypted connections and limiting access to the people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant authority where the law requires us to do so.

ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
ask us to delete information we no longer need;

Telephone and email contact. When you send us an enquiry with your phone number, you are asking us, our partner carriers and the licensed agencies we work with to contact you about that enquiry and your quote. You can tell us at any point to stop calling, or to contact you by email only. We do not make automated marketing calls and we do not send marketing text messages.

9. Children and this website

This website and our services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the site is not directed at them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Other websites and services

Our website may link to other sites, such as mapping services, carrier resources or regulatory information. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of those sites, and we suggest you read their privacy notices before sharing any personal information with them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The last updated date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and we will highlight material changes on this page.
